I am the clumsiest person in the world.
Yoga? Girl, please. I can barely balance on BOTH feet. Every other day, I spend an hour lurching around on my mat in front of a calm, steady instructor and a medium-to-large audience. And I fall on my tuchas in front of them at least once a week.
Good thing for me that yoga is more than calisthenics. Through yoga, I have learned to fail spectacularly and gracefully, roll with a fall, and breathe through the difficulty of trying Eagle without a wall again. And I do it all without worrying what anybody else thinks. While I love my community, my adventures--and misadventures--are mine alone.
Yoga teaches me how to ground. It enables me to flow into new challenges--and through past calamities--by keeping me in the present moment, connected to my body and my breath.
In the minefield of life, I remain safe and sane.
That is my yoga.
